While I can’t know everything, I do know with certainty that every human being is in pursuit of happiness. Mundane life seems to offer so many “obstacles” that ultimately take on the form of reasons or excuses to give up pursuit of happiness or to make no attempt to pursue it in the first place. You are undeniably in pursuit of happiness! Without knowing you personally, I know you want so many things out of your life which you may not have achieved…yet.

It takes a simple change in thinking to make your dream a reality. If you’ve started any kind of residual income business, it’s because you had the audacity to believe that you could shape your destiny on your terms. Imagine that! With millions of people still unemployed, it’ll take some time for a full economic recovery. In the mean time, it’s an excellent opportunity to explore a business that can give you the freedom to earn money without “selling” your personal time.

While I’m no expert on socio-economic trends, I predict that people of the not-too-distant future will, for the most part, have some level of home income business as part of their income “portfolio”. Unless you’re someone with thousands of dollars in disposable cash to buy stock in a company, you’ll start some form of residual income business on the internet. I see a time when almost everyone earns some level of passive income in addition to or in place of the income earned through traditional employment.

Because the internet is still relatively new, it’ll take some time until my prediction becomes common fact. The economic crisis that started in 2008, and still affects millions today, was also a blessing in disguise for many people. The person I was 2 years ago would never imagine typing these words. For me, it was a gradual process. I admit that I started my residual income business out of a lack of options. Today, running my own business online is the only option that interests me. Why would I want to work for someone now? In fact, the only way I’ll consider earning money through a company is by becoming a shareholder of that company.

The initial steps to starting my internet business were the most difficult. I had very little knowledge of what it takes to build a successful, income-generating business online and I was not sure what I would sell online that I could discuss passionately. I paid a business consultant a considerable fee to teach me what I needed to know to become a successful internet marketer. Every step I took toward building my internet business was also a step way outside of my comfort zone. Quite frankly, I wasn’t absolutely certain that I was doing the right thing. No matter how much I analyzed this new idea, there was some residue of skepticism on my part.

To quote Benjamin Disraeli: "The great secret of success in life is for a man to be ready when his opportunity comes". With that in mind, I dove into my business without ever looking back. A simple change in my thinking and behavior changed my life in ways that I couldn’t anticipate 2 years ago. I find within myself a willingness to assume certain risks that can be explained only by a renewed self confidence. Ironically, I’m far more fearful of the status quo than I am of the unknown. The opposite was true of me 2 years ago! It’s been quite a journey since then, and I’m continuing to grow and learn. May this journey never end!

The greatest challenge you’ll face with your new business is marketing it to the masses. Don’t be intimidated by the challenge, as it also presents your greatest opportunity! We live in and are part of a universe that is mostly unknown and unexplored by us. You are part of an infinite greatness, within which possibilities are boundless! With your potential, how can you not attract wealth into your life?

Social media websites, for example, make it possible to market your business in ways that allow you to be genuine. I’ve had traditional sales jobs, for which I was trained to use sales tactics I thought were insulting to human intelligence. For this reason, I was never comfortable with such tactics as the “take-away close”. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but just not me.

While PPC or pay per click advertising is an effective direct marketing technique, it still costs money every time someone clicks on your advertisement with no guarantee of a sale. My favorite way to market my business is to use social media, which is free. Through this medium, you engage in the process of branding yourself and of building relationships with people. Relationship means credibility, which is essential for the survival of any business on or offline.

In spite of its simplicity, the results don’t come over night. It takes a great deal of effort and time on your part. Still, no matter what new web-based marketing technologies become available, the end user will always be a human being, whose trust must be earned so that his(her) final decision to buy is in your favor. For this reason, you’re focus for your business should be to establish credibility and build relationships. An excellent way to establish credibility and build relationships is to blog or to submit articles related to your business.

The fact that your business is new and that you’re an unknown may offer an advantage. Most people can relate to an unknown “Joe Schmoe” more so than to a “high & mighty” guru especially when it comes to product reviews. For example, I went online to get information on a system cooling device for my video game console. While I found some good reviews on the product page, I wanted a more direct source. After searching a little further, I found videos online with “real people” giving their assessment of this cooling device. As a consumer, I felt much more comfortable about purchasing the device from the manufacturer!

Be genuine in your desire to offer people the highest quality of product or service, and your business will inevitably thrive! Make it a pleasure to work hard for your business. No one said it had to be painful! Your success lies in the journey, and part of your journey will be your effort to continually educate yourself on new ways to grow your business by connecting with people. I make it a point to read the articles of other internet marketers, who are successful in their businesses. One can never learn too much about how to make money online.

Finally, keep the company of people, who are a positive influence on you! Avoid discussing your business with those, who think they know every reason why you should quit. Such people, including those with the best of intentions, can’t understand why you’re not content with mediocrity. Be sure to re-charge your sense of motivation and purpose on a daily basis.

The Seed of Faith…The Death of Fear

The seed of faith conceives victory, and the fear of failure aborts it. Although my mentioning of faith doesn’t necessarily refer to religious beliefs, the same principles apply nonetheless. If the opening line strikes a chord in you, it’s only because the message is one that you already know. Perhaps you haven’t explored the true depths of its meaning until now. What is a “seed”? According to Dictionary.com, it’s the germ or propagative source of anything. In nature, seeds are the means by which plants grow from the earth.

So, we know that seeds are natural things that bring forth life. That the seed of faith conceives victory is a natural thing. By victory, I’m not only referring to winnings in politics, business, or sports but also to the successful realization of one’s natural potential. Your natural potential is unlimited! This is why Ambrose Bierce says: “Achievement is the death of endeavor and the birth of disgust.” Your potential is only realized throughout the course of the endeavor! This is the natural course of human living; to grow, learn, and improve until we die. This is our purpose! It’s what H. Tom Collard meant by saying: “Success is a journey-not a destination”.

The seed of faith is a natural thing indeed; that is, the belief that we can achieve whatever we desire if we apply ourselves according to natural law. It’s the reason we have planes, trains, automobiles, and the internet! The fear of failure, however, is based on a lie! In fact, it’s outright unnatural! Human beings come into the world “equipped” with only 2 fears: that of physically falling and that of loud noises. All other fears are learned socially and are, therefore, unnatural. Learned fear is a tool of “abortion”. It’s used by others or by one’s self to “abort” the ultimate victory; the realization of your unlimited, natural potential.

As in any ecosystem, your natural potential can be channeled through the medium of your choosing. I’m not saying that you can necessarily become the next Michael Jordan or Derek Jeter by simply saying it. Unless you’ve put the time into developing such skills, it won’t happen. I am saying that you have the potential for equal greatness in any other field that you can imagine. For example, if you’ve failed as a banker, then banking may have been the wrong medium for you. You may discover that you’re a brilliant writer, who can write marketing ads that generate thousands of dollars per day with major advertising firms competing for your talent! Before you can accomplish anything in life, however, you must first pay with a token of faith!

What is faith? Well, according to Dictionary.com, faith is the persuasion of the mind that a certain statement is true. So far, we know that human beings are born with only 2 fears: that of falling and that of loud noises. All other fears are unnatural! We’ve just read above that faith is a persuasion of the mind. The former is beyond our control, and the latter is based on the willful act of persuasion and acceptance. If faith is a matter of free will, and unnatural fear is learned and, therefore, willingly accepted into the mind, then unnatural fear must be a form of faith that has been placed in ideas that undermine our natural potential for greatness! Do you realize what this means? If unnatural fear is a sort of “dark faith”, then “fear” doesn’t really exist! Imagine that! Fear is not even real! It’s nothing more than a construct of the mind? If you’re the “occupant” of your mind, then can you guess who constructed your unnatural fears including that of failure to accomplish extraordinary things in your life?

Imagine coming to the realization that what you thought you couldn’t achieve all this time was well within your grasp for the taking! All you’ve had to do is claim your inheritance. As an intelligent human being, you’re obligated to be all that you can be; to borrow the famous United States Army slogan. For how long have you allowed yourself to be imprisoned by the illusion of fear? It’s only as real as you make it. When fear is finally dead to the mind, it’s laid to rest in the field of oblivion where it belongs. Real is what you are! You are the wielder of the power that binds you or sets you free.

Becoming An Internet Marketer Part II

The mind is a blessing or a curse, depending on what it thinks, imagines, or assumes. It’s simultaneously our greatest strength and weakness. If we all would just use our minds to create what we want at will, life would be quite different. Wouldn’t it? Unfortunately, only a minority of us puts this into practice.

Using your mind to create what you want at will is certainly nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, history is replete with examples of ordinary people, who’ve accomplished extraordinary things by simply thinking differently from others. Thomas Edison and Martin Luther King, for example, set out to accomplish goals and were able to achieve those goals, because they were passionate! They simply would not give up the pursuit of what they desired. Right now, you have the power to achieve extraordinary results in your life without necessarily being an inventor or a martyr of the civil rights movement.

If you truly want change in your life, you must take ownership of all the circumstances that befall you in life. When I was laid off from my HR job over a year ago, I was devastated and afraid. I was cut off from my $70,000/year job, and the job market showed no sign of recovery that would benefit me. The loss of income hurt me deeply, as I had plans like most people do. My job was O.K. It paid my bills, but it wasn’t the love of my life. I had no real passion for it, but was there simply to do my part and get paid.

I was deeply embittered by what I thought my employer had done to me, and I blamed the previous administration, Wall Street, and the rest of Corporate America for my problems. In the words of the late Warren Zevon: “Poor, Poor Pitiful Me”. Regardless of what outside forces impacted me or where I placed blame, I still had a choice. I had learned the valuable lesson that it’s within my power to do something with what I’ve learned or to do nothing and remain a victim. While I’m no expert in psychology, I’ve found that it’s far better to be constructively angry than it is to be destructively hopeless and afraid. I grew sick and tired of blaming the administration, Wall Street, or any other outside influence for my reality.

Whether your personal story is similar to or worse than mine, your financial future is entirely up to you. There are a number of ways to achieve financial freedom. One way is through the home-based residual income business, which is growing in popularity with each passing day. Like any worth-while endeavor, it requires a great deal of effort, but is highly rewarding. In the paragraph above, I mention how I blamed others for my woes, which is an unhealthy and counterproductive way of thinking. Know that you have within you the awesome power to alter the course of your life forever by simply imposing your will to the extent that you arrive at the destination you desire. The Article of Success

What does success mean to you? Whether you’re successful or not is a question that can be answered by you only. Personally, I’ve set out to accomplish successes in my life only to be rewarded with disappointment. I’m referring mainly to my corporate career in HR. I’ve never been truly satisfied with any job I’ve ever held, because I’d always been somewhat fearful of not having control of my destiny. Ultimately, my fear was answered with a lay-off completely beyond my control.

Your story may be generally similar to mine or quite different. In spite of our various backgrounds, cultures, ethnicities, etc, the one thing all human beings share is the desire to achieve success or happiness. In an imperfect world, happiness is the closest we’ll ever get to perfection. As individuals, we have the power to define happiness; that is, determine what it is to us, and then take action to manifest it or give it form. It’s the one “god-like” quality we mortals possess!

If you’re reading this article, then it’s likely that you’re searching for a way to give form to the happiness you’ve defined. You’re on a quest to usher into reality the physical manifestation of the success or happiness you desire! Perhaps, you’ve realized that it’s not enough to say: “I want to be happy” or “I want to make a lot of money”. Without the definiteness of form, your form of happiness remains an abstraction beyond the reach of reality. In other words, it’s just a wish, hope, or dream.

Forgive me if this sounds like a contemplation of the meaning of life, but I’m trying to draw a picture in your mind. What would you do with your time if you were financially independent? What if this residual income business pays you a minimum income equal to your current base salary minus your daily commute and a boss? Of what value would this business be to you?

The meaning of financial independence is entirely subjective, as it depends on the goal of the individual. They’re simply able to earn the same money without the stress of a day job. Peace of mind is priceless! For others, it means their living standard has drastically improved, and they can now afford things that were once beyond the reach of their wallets. They’re rich!

Long before our recent economic crisis, people were under-paid and struggling to make a living or were stressed beyond tolerance with a high-paying job. Regardless of life experience, the home-based residual income business is setting many people free! It’s a new way of thinking about building an income to ensure financial security. Ultimately, your financial future is in your hands. How many of us truly believe that the job market or even the government can give us the security we seek? Too many of us cling to old paradigms of financial security that serve only to hinder our individual progress.

There’s nothing worse than that feeling of panic and helplessness while you desperately seek the attention of a hiring manager or a recruiter, who’ll give you a break. This, for me, was the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back.

I speak for myself in saying that the corporate job is a complete dead end. While this paradigm is effective for others, it’s taken me nowhere. For this reason, a residual income business opportunity makes perfect sense for me and for the countless others, who are sick & tired of being sick & tired. I think it takes more than the desire for money, however, to start a residual income business. It also takes a burning desire for freedom. Isn’t that what we all want ultimately? How many people do you know who love their jobs so much they can hardly wait to get to the office on Monday morning? You may know 1 or 2 but no more than 5. Are you one of them? If you’re a hard-working American who looks forward to Friday afternoon every week as if it’s a holiday, then you should ask yourself why? Why do you continue this way of living, when you could be working toward a far more rewarding life style?

Why can’t your current job become the side job you do until your business launches? Whether it’s online or offline, the only way to become financially independent without winning the lottery or inheriting millions from the death of a rich relative is to start your own residual income business that builds income on auto pilot! What does it mean to start your very own residual income business anyway? Why are you even considering such a thing in the first place? Aren’t you worried that your investment and dedicated efforts may not pay off? What if you buy a residual income program (a good one), you follow its instructions to the letter, and you’re no better off than you were prior to the program? Failure is a possibility in any endeavor.

Forgive me, if my introduction sounds a bit like doom & gloom, but I’m simply pointing out a reality that shouldn’t go unmentioned. Fortunately, it’s not a question of whether or not you “fail”, but a question of your ability to learn from failures and apply what you’ve learned to making course corrections as you grow your business. Becoming a successful internet entrepreneur begins with a new way of thinking. Your thought process is going to be vital to the survival of your fledgling business. Prior to becoming an internet entrepreneur, I would have never committed money and time to building an internet business, because I felt very secure with my 40-hour-per-week job. I was working for a small, but successful, software company earning a comfortable salary with benefits, vacation days, etc. My paradigm was such that I was willing to go above and beyond the call of duty in the hope that my effort would be recognized and rewarded by upper management in the form of merit increases and yearly bonuses.

To my disappointment, my “security blanket” was snatched away during a mass lay-off, which left me unemployed for 1 full year! I spent the better part of that year trying to get back to work with no success. Ultimately, I turned my back to my fear, and saw a new opportunity that my willful blindness hid from me all this time. What happened? To quote Napoleon Hill: “The turning point in the lives of those who succeed usually comes at the moment of some crisis, through which they are introduced to their ‘other selves’”.

I hear often that if you want something done right, you’ve got to do it yourself. Make no mistake about building a residual income business. It’s hard work. By now, you may have read about residual income programs that require little or no effort. While it’s true that some programs teach methods that are easier to put into practice than others, I assure you that your earning potential in this business is directly proportional to the time and effort you commit to building it. The little-or-no-effort part kicks in only after the business is up and running. If there’s a “magic’ to the residual income business, it’s certainly not money for nothing.

Surely, you should expect the building of a residual income business to cost you time, energy, and the budget you’ve set forth for its growth. Considering your income potential is unlimited, your business is well worth the effort you put into it. In light of the cost you’ve already paid in time, effort, and fuel over the years to make money for your current employer, starting your own residual income business makes perfect sense. Moreover, as an employee, limits are imposed on you no matter how hard you work for your employer. Whether or not an internet marketing business is right for you depends on how hard you’re willing to work for yourself.

You’re, of course, happy to be gainfully employed, as it allows you to maintain your current living standard.

Have you ever explored your potential to accomplish more? Imagine how you’d spend your time if you didn’t have to sell it to your employer. Unlike even a traditional small business, a profitable internet marketing business doesn’t require your physical presence. The hard work’s been done, and now your time is yours to spend as you please. You no longer sacrifice your time for money. Imagine that kind of freedom and peace of mind!

Fortunately, you can budget your time and money accordingly and become a successful internet marketer at your own pace. If you tend to be discouraged by such high demands, consider that most Americans put years of effort and time into day jobs with the hope that the efforts will be recognized and rewarded by upper management in the form of merit increases, bonuses, and promotions.

As I’ve mentioned above, a burning desire to succeed, an unyielding discipline to learn and apply new information, and time are things you need to make your business grow. As you take steps toward growing your residual income business, you’ll find that the need for instant gratification threatens to undermine your discipline. Unless you win the lottery, there’s no way to get rich quickly without doing something illegal.

While you’re learning your new business, set goals for yourself that you can achieve within a reasonable time.
